Analyze Cell Site Design Improvements for a Tier 1 MNO

JLA analyzed the client’s cell site design and deployment processes, recommending improvements from specific design changes to broader process enhancements.

Lets Discuss Your business goals

About the client

A Tier 1 MNO sought to understand and compare its cell site designs with industry standards to reduce costs without sacrificing performance, while also analyzing and improving its processes for planning, design, site development, deployment, and construction.

The Challenge

01

Scale and complexity of the macrocell landscape with many differing types of cell sites.

02

Needed an unbiased “outside” perspective first, followed by an in-depth exploration of how the existing designs and processes compare.

JLA Approach

  • Constructed a series of archetypes covering the vast variety of macrocell site types.
  • For each archetype, recommended a series of design improvements we’ve seen with actual sites in the field that can make significant reductions in cost while maintaining quality.
  • Determined a set of essential process principles for an “ideal” process spanning the planning, design, site development, deployment, and construction sub-processes.
  • Extensively analyzed all of client’s key processes as well as the client’s current set of supporting software tools.

Outcomes

01

Provided a set of specific cost-saving recommendations for each major site archetype.

02

Delivered a set of key process principles and ideal process recommendations, compared with the client’s current processes, and highlighted areas for continued focus and improvement.
